Environment

Aluminium is endlessly recyclable, losing none of its inherent properties through the recycling loop. In fact, 75% of the aluminium ever produced is still in use in one form or another.

Recycled aluminium takes 95% less energy to produce than metal produced from the raw bauxite ore, with carbon emissions reduced by the same amount. Aluminium’s high value per tonne also means there are many commercial operations that will collect and recycle aluminium, making it one of the most widely recycled packaging materials across Europe.

We are a member of The Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation (Alupro). Alupro is a not for profit company representing the leading aluminium packaging producers and reprocessors in the UK. Alupro’s role is to ensure that packaging waste recycling targets are met through working with local authorities and other partners, and through public-awareness raising. Alupro is also the body responsible for working with the government on recycling policy issues.
